You can try downloading using your web browser but you may encounter a situation that the download get interrupted due to internet connectivity. You will have to ensure that the computer keeps running for several hours/days and you will need to make sure that there is enough space to store these large files at the download location.
We recommend using A Download Manager (it’s a type of application) called JDownloader (other software may work to but we have tested JDownloader on our Mac and it works great for the Dropbox link containing multiple files) Here’s how you can do it:
Install JDownloader: If you haven’t already, download and install JDownloader from the official JDownloader website.
Copy the Dropbox Link: Copy the Dropbox link of the file you want to download.
Open JDownloader: Launch Free Download Manager on your Mac.
Add the Dropbox Link:
Click on the “+ Add new Links” button
Paste the Dropbox link into the textbox at the top.
Be sure to set the download location (by clicking “Browse” to the right of the disk icon) to be on a hard drive that have enough free space (1-2 TB). Don’t set it to be the local internal hard drive that may not have enough space. Make sure that you check the checkbox labeled “Subfolder by Package” — this will help ensure that similar folder structure is created at the download destination folder.
Click “Continue”. The software will analyze the download links to see what files are there to download (it will say “Crawling for Downloads”)
Start the Download: Click on “Start all Download” to start the download. The Software will handle the download process, and you can monitor its progress within the application. It’s important to make sure the computer does not go to sleep while the download program is running.
Download Managers support resuming interrupted downloads, which is particularly useful for large files, and can accelerate the download process by using multiple connections.
By using downloader managers, you can manage large file downloads more efficiently and reduce the risk of interruptions or incomplete downloads.
